Andy is the author of the best selling and highly acclaimed World-Class Teaching Guides and his award winning books have been published on  West African Djembe Drumming, Brazilian Samba, Indonesian Gamelan, Jumbie Jam Steel Pans, World Class Percussion, West African Djembe Drumming Book Two, Percussion Buddies, Composing with World Music, Western Classical Music and the Music of India.

His book “Andy Gleadhill’s Slap Djembe” won the award for outstanding music education publication at the Music and Drama Education awards in London 2024.
 
He has had many articles and features published in specialist academic music and educational magazines and journals. He is a regular contributor to Music Teacher, Teach Primary and Teach Secondary Magazines.

He contributed the chapter on music to the academic publication "Popular Culture, Pedagogy and Teacher Education" published by Routledge (2014).
